Dear Pinky,
I'm a little scared of acupuncture, but all my wise friends really think it
will work for the pain in my knees (caused by Patella Femoral Syndrome.)

It will help, its not painful, you can do it at a clinic at a school for $25, and you should listen to your wise friends more than to some girl with nothing but an all-girl rock band, a blog and a fistful of dreams. Ahem. Think of this: how much time, energy, and money have you spent trying to alleviate your knee pain? Now go out and find somebody who has spent ANY time, energy, or money trying to alleviate their acupuncture pain. It feels good, it makes you feel calmer and happier, and if you dont like it, you can have them take out the needles. They go in one at a time, you know? If you dont like the first one, it comes out, and that's it. You are always in control. Dont worry, little creaky.
