PINKHAIRTHING TRIVIA CONTEST PRIZES
Kudos to all who attempted a guess! I thought the clue was pretty loud and clear (see 7/3/2002). I guess, however, you needed to (a) know the song to recognize it, and (b) go beyond the red herring clues regarding my genetic heritage and (actual) hometown. Sherlock Holmes would have figured it out lickety-split. You all proved to be so many clue-seeking Watsons, close but no cigar. And yet, and yet, I feel I must award a cigar or two.
Surreal Cigar (made of figs and a telescope) goes to LULU for conjuring an image in my mind of a bunch of guys who are probably by now 6 feet under or in a cardiac care unit belting out Tell Me Something Good.
First Runner Up: Sistra V, for "Nasty" by Janet Jackson.
Melancholy Baby Cigar (with a hint of hickory, and apple) to Black Bekkah, for all the Irish favorites, that do eventually get sung.
Extremely close but no Cigar to Lulu for guessing "Runaround Sue, an old and no longer appropriate theme song of my own.
And a smack myself right on the forehead with a cigar (ooh, that smarts) to Black Bekkah, because "Lion in the Jungle" did actually play at the reunion, and we did have a conga line type deal to it. (led by me.) Don't worry, there will be more trivia contests in the future, and more prizes. Now let's hear from our readers!
