The Best Thing Ever Written?

"All in all, “Pirates of the Caribbean” is the best spectacle of the summer: the absence of pomp is a relief, the warmth of the comedy a pleasure. The screenwriter Terry Rossio can perhaps be forgiven for saying (in the press notes), “We wanted it to be a very classic, Jane Austen-style, bodice-ripping romance.”

I went through a Jane Austen phase in college, and read all eight of her novels. Somehow, I am sensing Terry Rossio did not.
